FAQ

  • I know and appreciate that sometimes it can’t be helped if you have to cancel, or request to reschedule a lesson. So I like to advise that everyone tries to let me know within 24 hours, if they need to cancel or request to reschedule.

If you cancel at the last minute then I’m afraid the lesson will still be taken as a paid lesson, despite your absence. Having said that though, under exceptional circumstances like a family emergency, you will not lose a lesson that’s been paid for.

    I understand that life happens.

  • This purely depends on the circumstances. If after a period of time you’ve found yourself in a situation where you have to request a different time/day, and if I have the availability to do so, then I will happily offer you a new time/day that works for you. However, because I work on a first come first serve basis, please bear in mind that I may not be able to accommodate for every time a change is requested.

You can always have your lessons on an Ad Hoc or fortnightly basis, as this may suit you better.

  • I personally feel that you need to be sure that learning the Guitar is for you in the first place. If you’ve had just 1 or 2 lessons but then decide it’s not for you and you’re absolutely sure, then you can request a refund for the lessons you haven’t had.

However, I will encourage you to at least consider finishing the block of lessons first, before you decide too soon. Learning any instrument requires Patience, Perseverance and most importantly Practicing, these are all basic facts.

So please think carefully before deciding.

  • I talk about this in the ‘My Lessons’ section.

In addition: My lessons work according to the level of experience the student has. So if the student is a beginner, then his/her lessons will essentially be tailored to suit his/her requirements. We will go over the very basics of learning, so knowing the string names, tuning, simple chords and strumming patterns.

If the student is slightly more advanced then again, his/her lessons will be tailored to suit his/her preferences.

I like to encourage my students to suggest songs to learn as well.

  • Yes, I do indeed offer the option to do your lessons online, and I use Zoom.

  • This largely depends on where you’re based, however in most cases I’m happy to come to you if you’re local or within a fair distance. Sometimes at the convenience of the student(s), it may be a personal preference to want to come to me for the lesson(s), so you would be more than welcome to do so. However, if the student is legally classed as a ‘Minor’, he or she must be accompanied by a Parent/Guardian throughout the lesson. In England, a child is defined as anyone who has not yet reached 18 years of age.
